WINSTON-SALEM — The Appalachian State University Mountaineers men’s basketball team headed to Winston-Salem Saturday, Jan. 2, to team up with Help Our People Eat. According to their website, H.O.P.E. uses volunteer support to “prepare and bring nutritious, weekend meals to the thousands of children in Forsyth County who are at risk for hunger.” According to Assistant Director of Strategic Communications Andrew Korba, the team distributed food across five locations and hopes to have another volunteer opportunity with the organization later in the season.
