BOONE — The L-town Lightning jumped out to a 9-1 lead before cruising to a 10-4 win over the Watauga Blue All-Stars in the Will Dicus Memorial Tournament 12-under division on June 15.
The game was stopped because of a time limit.
Watauga held a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning and then added three runs in the fourth inning. Matthew Habich singled and scored to lead off the fourth inning, and Gavin Robinson singled and also scored a run.
Tyler Coffey walked, stole second and scored on a Thomas Deiters single.
Watauga Blue lost to the Ashe Aces 11-1 on June 15 and beat the Watauga White All-Stars 7-1. The Ashe Aces also beat the Caldwell County All-Stars 12-2.

BOONE — The L-town Lightning rolled to a 15-2 victory over the Watauga White All-Stars team at the Will Dicus Memorial Tournament 12-under division on June 15.
The Lightning scored 10 runs in the first inning to take a lead that Watauga could not challenge. Watauga scored its runs in the top of the first inning when Jackson Hovanick was hit by a pitch and scored on a fielder’s choice by Holden Watson.
Cole Klemen singled, which was Watauga’s lone hit of the game, and scored on a wild pitch.
Hovanick reached base twice after walking in the third inning. He also stole a base in the third inning.
Coy Johnson also walked in the first inning, while Elias Holland reached base with a walk in the first inning. Ethan Lail reached base in the second inning on an error.
The Lightning finished with seven hits and Watauga committed four errors. Watauga pitchers also walked five Lightning batters and hit another with a pitch.
Watauga also lost to The Caldwell County All-Stars 15-4 on June 15 and lost to the Watauga Blue All-Stars 7-1.
The Lightning beat the Ashe Aces 9-3 in the division championship game June 16.
