Hicks transfers to McNeese State

Former App State running back D’Andre Hicks (22) will transfer to McNeese State.

BOONE — Former Appalachian State running back D’Andre Hicks has transferred to McNeese State, according to a published report.

Hicks is one of five former FBS players to transfer to McNeese State, according to nbcsports.com. He is a rising redshirt sophomore who gained 185 yards on 24 carries in 2018, and scored on a 73-yard touchdown against Gardner-Webb before missing the rest of the season because of an injury.

Hicks threw for 1,219 yards and ran for more than 500 yards while attending Charlotte High School in Punta Gorda, Fla. He was rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com and 247Sports.com.
