TURBEVILLE, S.C. — Former Appalachian State backup quarterback Peyton Derrick announced on Twitter he will transfer to Wofford College.
Derrick made the announcement on March 31. “I’m excited to announce that I am transferring to and continuing my football career at Wofford College,” Derrick tweeted.
He originally announced his transfer out of App State on Feb. 25. Derrick was a redshirt freshman from Conway, S.C. He was rated a two-star quarterback out of Conway High School, where he passed for 8,666 yards and 77 touchdowns.
He appeared in six games for Appalachian State in 2-18. He completed 13-of-22 passes for 186 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also ran for 41 yards on eight carries and a touchdown.
“I am very grateful for everything App State has given me,” Derrick tweeted on Feb. 25 when he first announced his plan to leave Appalachian State. “The memories and the relationship I have made will last forever.”
