I would like to thank the community of Watauga County.
On Aug. 8, my husband suffered a fatal massive heart attack on the side of the road.
We are not from here, although I have family here in Vilas. I know the ER staff at watauga medical did all they could to save my husband. From the couple who lives across the street and came running out to help perform CPR to the group of women who comforted my children while the EMTs worked on him, to the unnamed lady who bought my kids snack from the hospital vending machine, Foscoe rentals who got my family into a cabin quickly and the Bethel Baptist Church in Vilas.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped to make the darkest day of mine and my children’s lives just a little less dark.
Whether I know your name or not, I will always remember you for your selflessness and compassion. God Bless all of you.
