Mrs. Mary Anne Fairchild Hartzog, 86 of Wilkesboro, N.C., passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at her home in the Champion-Mt. Pleasant Community.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Reach Center with Pastor Kevin Brown officiating. Burial will be in Gap Creek Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m., prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Hartzog was born November 1, 1932 in Watauga County to Thomas and Edna Church Fairchild. She was a homemaker and a Substitute Teacher at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School. Mrs. Hartzog was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Max Hartzog; a son, Max Edward Hartzog; a sister, Elda Fairchild McNeill; and two brothers, Ralph Fairchild and Howard Fairchild.

She is survived by two sons, Kent Hartzog and wife Karla of Millers Creek and Joe Hartzog and wife Deborah of Phoenix AZ; three grandchildren, Adrianne Huffman Chillemi, Jessica Hartzog Eneriz and Vanessa Hartzog; four great grandchildren, Peter James Chillemi, Vivien Marie Chillemi, Elijah Anthony Eneriz and Zoe Lola Eneriz; and a brother, Johnny Fairchild of Buena Vista VA.
