Dollie Greene Jordan


Dollie Greene Jordan, 90, of Flowers Branch Road, Deep Gap, passed away Friday afternoon, Jan. 4, 2013, at Gateway Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lenoir.

Mrs. Jordan was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Copna and Fannie Norris Greene. She was a homemaker and a member of Stony Fork Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by four daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Davis (Jenny) of Granite Falls, Mrs. Joyce Estes of Granite Falls, Mr. and Mrs. David Greer (Pat) of Lenoir, and Dr. and Mrs. Larry Anderson (Diana) of Morganton; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jordan (Jewell) of Elkin, and Mr. June Jordan of Ferguson; five granddaughters, Melina Jordan, Melissa Hahn, Regina Morrow, Lisa Sims, and Angela Day; and two grandsons, Todd Jordan and Wayne Logsdon. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bynum "Dick" Jordan; eight sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral services for Dollie Greene Jordan will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1 to 2p.m. officiated by the Rev. Sherrill Wellborn. Burial will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
