BOONE — A unanimous vote of the Watauga County Board of Elections on Nov. 30 requested additional funds and space for the elections office to operate.
According to Watauga County Board of Elections Director Matthew Snyder, the resolution is to “fully fund at least two additional staff positions and to provide adequate space for the elections office to include onsite storage of equipment and adequate space for personnel to perform their duties.”

Unfortunately, partisan politics of the past has kept the board if elections in a cramped space, understaffed, insufficient parking and hard to access. Now is the time to correct this situation.
