Police are searching for a man spotted in surveillance camera footage.

WATAUGA — High Country Crime Stoppers and the Boone Police Department are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a recent theft.

According to Boone Police, on Tuesday, April 20, an unknown Hispanic male entered A2Z Tobacco — located at 125 New Market Centre — and allegedly took a customer’s wallet from the checkout counter. The wallet contained cash, various bank cards and an EBT card. According to Boone Police, the suspect is a Hispanic male, appears to be in his 20’s wearing a gray sleeveless shirt Khaki pants and red work boots.
