WEST JEFFERSON — Conservative commentators Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, respectively known as Diamond and Silk, highlight the High Country Patriot Dinner hosted by the Watauga and Ashe county Republican parties on Aug. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Theater in West Jefferson.

Hardaway and Richardson, sisters from Fayetteville, are known for their vocal support for President Donald Trump, critical views of Democrats and live-stream video blogging, notably on Fox News and its streaming service Fox Nation.

“We’re very very excited,” Watauga County GOP Chairwoman Karen Greene Lerch said. “I think they’re wise women and we’re thrilled to have them.”

Joining the duo will be special guest Mark Keith Robinson, a Greensboro-based conservative political commentator who previously spoke at the Watauga GOP’s Lincoln Reagan Dinner in 2018.

Invited guests include U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-Banner Elk), N.C. Sen. Deanna Ballard (R-Blowing Rock) and Lt. Gov. Dan Forest, a Republican who is exploring running for the governor’s office in 2020. Lerch said that more invited guests are to be announced.

“We’d like to have more counties with us next year,” Lerch said. “We’re all one and it’s exciting to work with Ashe County.”

Doors open for sponsors at 3:30 p.m. and the general public at 5 p.m. Tickets start at $125 per general admission ticket.
