BOONE — Boone Police on Monday arrested a man who allegedly was caught by surveillance video at 11:25 p.m. June 1 attempting to set fire to the Dan’l Boone Inn located at 130 Hardin St.
Boone Police investigators arrested Peter Spencer Horn, 31, of Grand Boulevard, in Boone.
Horn was charged with felonious burning other buildings in violation of North Carolina General Statute 14-67.1. Horn was issued a $10,000 secured bond and a July 2 court date.
Horn was also previously charged with felony burning personal property in December 2015. The charges were dismissed in June 2016 as requested by the alleged victim, according to court documents.
In fall 2016, two Tsunami surveillance systems were installed in the downtown Boone area. Video from the Tsunami surveillance system led to the identification and eventual arrest of the alleged suspect in this case.
