In the picturesque community of Valle Crucis, the third annual High Country Toast will be presented in the Valle Crucis Community Park, located on 2892 Broadstone Road in Valle Crucis, during the summer weekly Music in the Valle event on June 7.

“While Music in the Valle remains a free event, a ticket to High Country Toast gives you access to an entree and dessert from inside our Peak Insurance Food Truck Village while sampling Watauga County-brewed craft beers and wines from regional vendors,” the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce stated.

Admission to the concerts is free, but a $5 donation per person or $10 donation per family to the park is recommended. Seating is not provided, so chairs or a blanket are recommended.

The event is sponsored by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and the Boone Sunrise Rotary Club, with proceeds donated to Valle Crucis Community Park to assist in funding park maintenance and programming throughout the year.

The June 7 Music in the Valle will feature local country-blues artist Shay Martin Lovette, who will play from 6-9:30 p.m. as the sun sets behind the mountains to the west.

“Local favorite Shay M. Lovette supplies music lovers with two sets of bluesy country from the soul,” the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce stated.

Lovette is a singer-songwriter from the foothills of North Carolina, relocating to Boone in 2016. Lovette was the 2019 MerleFest Band Competition winner and has been featured in music festivals across the region.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. General admission tickets include meal tickets for one entree and one dessert from the food truck village along with a tasting glass for samples at the beer and wine vendor tents.

Food trucks confirmed for the event include The Cardinal and Doggin’ It 828 and beer and wine vendors include Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Booneshine, Lost Province, Empire Distributors, Mims Distributing and Tryon Distributing.

VIP Access tickets are $75, which includes a separate tent with a full BBQ dinner from Lil’ Brothers BBQ, desserts from local restaurants, access to beer and wine with Grandfather Vineyard and hors d’oeuvres from Peabody’s Beer and Wine Merchants.

Music in the Valle is a free, weekly music series that runs from May 24 through Sept. 6. Artists featured in 2019 include Rastacoustic (May 31), Handlebar Betty (June 14), Aaron Burdett and The Fly Rights (June 21), Shelby Rae Moore (July 5), The King Bees (July 12) and much more. Each event includes a local food truck.
