Rivers Street Ale House

BOONE — River Street Ale House in Boone and Town Tavern of Blowing Rock are teaming up with Appalachian Mountain Brewery to unveil a beer on March 15 that will help in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

According to Justin Davis, who owns Town Tavern Blowing Rock and Rivers Street Ale House, 10 percent of the sales from the 828 Lager will go to the Alzheimer’s Association.

“My partner Jeff Lamont and I both have been directly affected by this disease,” Davis said. “My father has it, my grandfather passed away due to it.”

The release party will be held March 15 at Rivers Street Ale House and be available at both establishments. According to Davis, the Alzheimer’s Association will be on hand, with prizes, a raffle and silent auction to raise money.

“This is a pint to never forget,” Davis said.
