BLOWING ROCK — Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina honored 16 more graduates of its Guest Service Professional program on May 7 and 9.

The first graduation was held on May 7 at the LaQuinta in Boone, which included staff from the Sleep Inn and Super 8 of Boone. Graduates included Kylee Richard, Chyenne Santos, Jessica Crawley, Corey Simpson, Jesse Treadway, Justin Turbyfill, Sonya Newberry, Emily Womble and Kristin Ashley.

The second was on May 9 at the High Country Workforce Development Board meeting, which featured graduates from the Hampton Hotel. Receiving their certificates were Gabrielle Harmeyer, Carol Key, Taylor Kennedy, Diana Fay, Johnathan Osborne, Marta Sindelar and Erin Hollingsworth

The five-hour training course was created by Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina and Caldwell Community College. The fee-waived course is designed to “accomplish the goal of creating guest service-oriented line level employees who know how to engage with their guests to provide memorable guest service,” according to the advertisement for the program.
