BLOWING ROCK — For 25 years, Tim Miller and his store, Blowing Rock Frameworks and Gallery, have been open at 7539 Valley Blvd.

That milestone was celebrated with a cookout and reunion of longtime customers and former employees on May 25.

“Time goes by so very fast,” Miller said on May 25. “In those 25 years, we’ve developed a customer/friendship base of over 8,000 friends.”

According to its website, Blowing Rock Frameworks and Gallery has featured more than 25 of the most accomplished artists in the region.

“A stroll through the gallery is as pleasing to the first-time visitor as it is to our seasoned collectors,” the website states.

Open year round, Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment anytime, Miller says he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I couldn’t imagine a better career and to bring fine art and custom framing into Blowing Rock, doing something I love,” Miller said.

With current employee Alex Cirulis, the location will be home to three art shows over the summer.

From June 3-15, watercolorists Wes Waugh and Joe Miller will present “Small Works,” with a reception on Saturday, June 8, from 5-8 p.m.

July 8-19 will be a group show of the gallery’s artists, including Robin Wellner, Lita Gatlin, Kyle Buckland, Fred Sprock and many more. “Blowing Rock Scenic Views” will highlight the scenic areas of Blowing Rock as well as Blowing Rock downtown in a various range of painting styles. The reception will be Saturday, July 13, from 5-8 p.m.

The summer finale show takes place Aug. 19-31 when Jason Drake will present “Reflections of Home,” with a reception on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 5-8 p.m.
