BLOWING ROCK — Hundreds of items were scattered all over the Blowing Rock American Legion Hall from Thursday, May 30, through Saturday, June 2 for the Blowing Rock Women’s Club’s annual rummage sale.

From lamps to books to plates, glassware, plants and much more, the community turned out to find whatever their fancy was.

According to Ann Rhyne, chair of the event, the gross sales for the three days were around $9,000.

“We had eager shoppers outside waiting over 30 minutes before we opened,” the Blowing Rock Women’s club said on Facebook.

Along with club members, the group was helped by Appalachian State University wrestling team members.

The Blowing Rock Women’s Club is a nonprofit founded in 1978 to provide scholarship funds to local students.

Through its successful events, the Blowing Rock Women’s Club are going to be opening Village Thrift, located at 8332 Valley Blvd., besides Woodlands BBQ, on June 19. Hours will be Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
