BOONE — The Boone Brick Contest held at the Boone Mall on May 25 raised about $1,800 for the Watauga Humane Society.

The event was a ‘huge success,’ according to contest administrator Erik Lanier, with more than 90 entries. Some entrants take anywhere from 60 to 100 hours to assemble their creations, Lanier said. All proceeds from the contest go to the Watauga Humane Society.

The 2019 winners are listed by category and then first, second and third place: Brick Masters — Aly Perez, Charlie Watson and Luke Doty; Brick Stars — Lian Langley, Quinton Guido and Duncan Lindo; Brick Brains — Jonathan Holloway, Taylor Ward, Luke Ramsdell; Creators — Lillie Hining and Trevor Way; Batman’s Bat Cave Explorers — Gabriel Bunton, Lost Sheet and Elijah Smith; Budding Bricksters — Easton Poe, Alyssa Cho and Charlie Crabtree.
