BLOWING ROCK – Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists along North Main Street in Blowing Rock will notice a larger kinetic sculpture, which was installed on June 3, for the next 12 months.

The 900-pound, 13-foot tall sculpture, named “Share My Whirled,” is the work of Mike Roig. The Blowing Rock Town Council previously approved the installation, paid for by Chetola Resort.

The sculpture commemorates the inaugural Sculpture Walk, which will take place Aug. 9-11 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with events occurring on each day.

“We are proud to be a part of the first Sculpture Walk on Lake Chetola,” said Greg Tarbutton, proprietor of Chetola Resort, in a statement. “The sculpture exhibition, we believe, will become an annual event.”
