TODD — Wahoo’s Adventures is bringing back Float Fest for the fifth consecutive year at New River Outpost for a day of fun, music, and of course, river floating.
Proceeds from the festival will be used to support the Middle Fork Greenway, the multi-use recreational trail being developed to connect Blowing Rock and Boone. This year’s Float Fest is scheduled for Sunday, June 23, starting at 10 a.m.
“We’re all about supporting our nonprofits up here,” Wahoo’s owner Jeff Stanley said.
Recreational activities during the day will include inner tubing, kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing. Disc golf, corn hole, volleyball and other activities will also be available throughout the day. For those looking to stay the night, Stanley said camping sites are available before and after the festival.
The King Bees are scheduled to perform at 1 p.m., followed by a performance from Horn in the West’s choir.
Betty’s Biscuits will be catering for the festival. Grills and firepits will also be available.
“It’s really a nice, down-home festival,” Stanley said.
The event is hosted in conjunction with Lost Province Brewing Company. For ticket information, visit wahoosadventures.com or call (828) 262-5774.
