A display of emergency vehicles and demonstrations could be seen on June 1 during the annual Emergency Fest.

The event — sponsored by the Watauga County Firefighters Association, area emergency services organizations and New River Tire — allowed attendees to spray water out of a fire hose, learn how to use a fire extinguisher, sit in emergency vehicles and meet local first responders.

Other activities included bounce houses, a children’s bike rodeo, train rides and live fire safety and law enforcement demonstrations.
