BOONE — Boone’s screenings of the 2019 Banff Mountain Film Festival at the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts sold out the same day they went on sale — the fastest they have ever sold out in Boone, said Rich Campbell, associate director for ASU’s Outdoor Programs.

But for folks who missed out on buying a ticket Dec. 3, there is still a chance.

Campbell said vouchers are set aside for ASU students and ticket holders to Saturday’s 2018 canceled screening. The screening was canceled due to inclement weather, and vouchers can be redeemed for Saturday’s 2019 screening in return. Tickets will go on sale in January, and Campbell said they have “a few too many” ticket vouchers that will be available.

As of now, Banff is a two-day event in Boone, but Campbell said Outdoor Programs, which hosts the event, and the Schaefer Center may consider adding an extra screening on a Thursday night in the future. The film festival also puts on a middle school screening in partnership with APPlause! K-12 Performing Arts Series, which sold out as well.

Banff Mountain Film Festival will make its way to Boone once again for 7:30 p.m. screenings on March 22 and 23, 2019. For more information about the film fest, visit
