Housing Development Coordinator This position will be based in Boone, NC, but requires work within WAMY’s four-county service area of Watauga, Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey to facilitate critical home repairs for households experiencing income disparity. The Coordinator will operate within a highly functioning team, have a working knowledge of all WAMY Housing programs, and will facilitate home repairs according to various program guidelines and funding streams available. The coordinator will be responsible for customer and vendor recruitment and oversight, while managing and reporting for all housing programs, including the federal Housing Preservation Grant. Coordinator will ensure accurate eligibility determination for all housing programs, including determining income levels, suitability of applicant homes, and other grant guidelines, updating documentation as needed. Coordinator is also responsible for tracking enrollment and completion targets for all housing programs by county to maintain scheduled numbers as set by the agency and state. Coordinator will also become familiar with other human resources available in all four of WAMY’s counties and make appropriate referrals while creating community partnerships. Fundraising and volunteer coordination may be required. Applicants must be able to work with a diverse population including non-profits, faith organizations, community volunteers, donors, and individuals experiencing income disparity. Experience in community relations and grant administration desired. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are critical. After training, this position will require the Coordinator to access multiple portals and tracking systems; strong computer skills are a must. The pay rate is $36,000, with benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and a generous PTO package.
