Town of Boone Meeting Notice The Boone Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. via WebEx. Watch the Meeting: Anyone can view the meeting live at: https://townofboone.viebit.com/?folder=ALL Participate in Meeting: Individuals who wish to speak during public comment can do so through WebEx either online or by phone. To do so, email Jane Shook, Director of Planning & Inspections at jane.shook@townofboone.net or call 828-268-6960 and you will be provided with an invite to the meeting. All request must be completed by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Individuals who require user assistance registering or joining the WebEx event on the night of the meeting can call 828-268-6960 for support. At the beginning of the meeting Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing with Town Council on the following cases: 1. Case PL05168-100621: Amend UDO Article 7, 14, 15, 24, and 34 to modify and create new regulatory standards for short-term rentals (homestay or vacation rentals) of dwelling units. 2. Case PL05188-100821: Amend UDO Articles 7, 14, 24 and 34 to modify and clarify regulations regarding residential occupancy controls, including but not limited to the definitions of family and unrelated persons, the permissible number of occupants of residential dwellings, and parking requirements. 3. Case PL05169-100621: Amend UDO Article 14 to revise regulations relating to the siting of Town Utility Facilities on town properties and rights-of-way. 4. Case PL05189-100821: Amend UDO Articles 9 and 14 to revise the process for approval of major subdivisions. Written comments will be accepted until 24 hours prior to the start of the hearing and may be emailed to jane.shook@townofboone.net, mailed, or delivered to the Planning and Inspections Department at 680 West King Street, Suite C (basement of Downtown Post Office). Please note, full text of the proposed amendments may be obtained from the Town Clerk. Substantial and insubstantial changes in the amendments may be made following the public hearing. Amendments may also be made to other Articles to conform them to changes made in the cases above. Following the public hearing, the Planning Commission will consider the cases above.
