On Friday, March 27, 2020 from 6:30 pm to 8:15 pm at the Caldwell Heritage Museum Ellen KayeEthan Fein and Alan Joseph will be presenting Old Bones Odyssey, an evening of storytelling with original music in the Americana style. Lenoir native Robey Hartley, Ellen's cousin, will be a guest storyteller. The stories will share the history of their Lenoir ancestors - the Tuttles, the Courtneys, the Hartleys, the Gwyns, the Seagles, the Teagues, the Burwells, the Bells - their adventures and connections to Caldwell County. Ellen's great grandfather Marshall M. Courtney and her great great uncle Benedict Marcus Tuttle opened a general store at Tuttle’s Crossroads (now Hartland) in 1872 and expanded the operation to Lenoir in 1879, opening the Courtney Department Store on West Avenue.

The music for this program is all original and written by Ellen Kaye and Ethan Fein in the Americana style.

Ellen Kaye, with Ethan Fein and Alan Joseph, will be sharing stories of her ancestors, their roots in early America and their migration from England to Massachusetts to North Carolina. One family of Ellen's ancestors arrived in 1635 on a ship called the Planter. They were Puritans from England who settled in New England. Many of their descendants served in the Revolutionary War. This program will follow their journeys south and their settling in Caldwell County

Ellen, Ethan and Alan have created a companion podcast series called Old Bones Odyssey. It is in it's infancy and can be found gurgling at http://www.ellenckaye.com/phoenix-rising-old-bones-odyssey-podcast.html .
