The High Country Audubon Society is hosting birdwalks in Ashe County from May-September of 2019. A beautiful 1 mile loop trail, with moderate terrain. This area attracts many nesting bird species, especially forested floodplain birds like Baltimore Oriole, Yellow-thoated Vireo, Northern Parula, and possibly even Warbling Vireo. Wet weather requires boots. Meeting at the Wagoner Access. Check our Facebook for specific directions.
