Mr. Don Edward Fletcher, 88, of Charlie Thompson Road, Vilas, died Monday morning, Dec. 20, 2004 at the Davant Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility in Blowing Rock.
He was born Nov. 8, 1916 in Watauga County, a son of Thomas Spencer and Rosa Nellie Belle Harmon Fletcher.
Mr. Fletcher retired with 37 years service from the Drexel Heritage Furniture Plant.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruby Riddle and her husband, Rex, of Morganton and Faye Mynatt of Knoxville, Tenn.; and four brothers, Boyd Fletcher and Albert Fletcher and his wife, Nell, all of Morganton; Robert Fletcher of Hickory, and Charlie Fletcher of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Spencer and Rosa Nellie Belle Harmon Fletcher; and three brothers, Howard, Eugene and Arthur Dean Fletcher.
Services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Chuck Edmondson. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m., one hour prior to services, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery.
