Mrs. Quilla Eldora Lewis Clawson, 71, of Shelby, and formerly of the Todd Community, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at her residence.
She was born May 20, 1933 in Seminole County, Ga., to James Arthur and Floria Leon Kelly Lewis.
Mrs. Clawson was a retired caregiver for the elderly. She was a member of Plainsview Baptist Church, and was a member of South Fork Baptist Church of Todd, N.C., while living in Todd.
Survivors include one son, Gary Clawson and wife, Betty, of Grassy Creek; three daughters, Darlene Greene and husband, Steve, of Cherryville, Janet Mishue and husband, Larry, of Kittrell and Wanda Domkowski and husband, Wayne, of Louisburg; two sisters, Annette Merritt of Maryland and Yvonne Elbin of Virginia. Nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dean Clawson.
Services will be conducted Friday evening at 7:30 at the Stamey Funeral Home Chapel in Fallston, N.C., officiated by the Rev. Bill Ewing. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. prior to services at Stamey Funeral Home.
Local funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Jeff Vogler and the Rev. Homer Murdock.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1-2 p.m., prior to services, at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 at the Howell Cemetery in Todd.
The family suggests memorials to the Howell Cemetery, in care of Ruby Trivette, 10550 N.C. Highway 194 South, Todd, N.C. 28684.
At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter, Darlene and Steve Greene, 709 Old Stubbs Road, Cherryville.
Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston and Austin & Barnes Funeral Home in Boone are serving the Clawson family.
