Mr. Ralph Swain Wilson, 81, of the Pensacola Community, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Spruce Pine Hospital.
He was a native of Yancey County, a son of the late Emmitt and Esta Blankenship Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a soldier serving his country during World War II. He enjoyed working with his bees.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Gladys Walden Wilson; two daughters, Ann McIntosh and husband, Scott, and Karen Carroll of Burnsville; two sons, Ralph A. Wilson and wife, Terri, of Greeneville, Tenn. and Pete Wilson and wife, Debbie, of Boone; nine grandchildren, Carol Crowder and husband, Junior, Aaron Wilson and wife, Emily, Amanda Lyda and husband, Nathan, Andrew Wilson, Mitchell Carroll, Autumn Carroll, Julie McIntosh, Dillon McIntosh and Deanna Daughtery; five great-grandchildren, Anna Kathleen Wilson, Ruby Leona Wilson, Kristopher Crowder, Mary Crowder and Samantha Crowder.
Services will be conducted Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the Emmitt Wilson Cemetery at Pensacola.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, is in charge of the arrangements.
