Mrs. Mary Moseley Hamner, 83, of Blowing Rock, wife of the late Roland T. Hamner, Jr., died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at home.
She was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Bluefield, West Virginia, to the late James Bruce and Lena Galloway Moseley. Mrs. Hamner received a B.S. degree in Nutrition and a M.S. degree in Textiles from Winthrop College.
She was a retired assistant director of food services from 4 C’s of Charlotte. She was a member of Boone United Methodist Church, where she formerly served on the cookbook committee and was a leader of the Disciples Bible Study Group.
Survivors include three daughters, Anne Ipock and husband, Vance, of Athens, Ga., Kathryn Scott and husband, Gary, of Virginia Beach, Va. and Gray Gust and husband, Tom, of North Barrington, Ill.; two sons, Roland T. Hamner, III, of Blowing Rock and James G. Hamner and wife, Cathy, of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, J. Bruce Moseley, Jr. and wife, Peggy, of Dallas, Texas and Dr. Robert G. Moseley and wife, Dr. Nelle Moseley, of Raleigh; six grandchildren, David Scott, Stuart Scott, Jennifer Beni, Beau Hamner, Matt Gust and Andy Gust.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at Boone United Methodist Church, with Dr. George Naff and Roland Thornhill “Beau” Hamner, IV, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., at the church, prior to the memorial service.
