Volleyball team

to host team scrimmage
From staff reports

Appalachian State’s volleyball will hold an inter-squad scrimmage Aug. 22, directly after Fan Fest ends, head coach Matt Ginipro announced. The scrimmage will take place in the Holmes Center and admission is free.

Ginipro felt it was a good way for fans to get to see the 2009 squad in action before the season begins.

“Since the town of Boone will be filled with Mountaineer fans during Fan Fest, we felt it was a perfect time to hold a scrimmage and introduce everyone to the 2009 Appalachian State volleyball team,” Ginipro said.

“We are hoping that we can grab a bunch of new fans as they leave Kidd Brewer Stadium and head down to the Holmes Center to watch some volleyball action.”

The squad reported for pre-season conditioning and practice this past Sunday.
