Michigan QB not
coming to ASU

Though former Michigan quarterback/receiver Justin Feagin wants to transfer to Appalachian State, the chances of that happening are non-existent.
Feagin, who was dismissed from Michigan’s football team by head coach Rich Rodriguez in July, wanted to transfer to Appalachian State, according to both ESPN and the Detroit Free Press. Appalachian State spokesman and sports information director Mike Flynn said that since Feagin has not actually signed with Appalachian State, he could not comment on him specifically.
However, Flynn said that the team is not accepting any transfer players at this time.
“We’re not planning on bringing any transfers into the program,” Flynn said.
According to a source close to the situation, Feagin did not meet the necessary requirements for transfer for admission to Appalachian State. He was notified Saturday of the situation.
It was revealed by the Free Press Sunday night that the probable reason why he was dismissed from the Wolverines was because of a cocaine deal he had arranged with a fellow Michigan student had gone bad.
That student, identified as T.J. Burke, also confessed to setting a fire near Feagin’s dorm and has agreed to pay the university $14,213 in restitution. He will be sentenced Sept. 16 and could spend up to 10 years in prison.
Rodriguez kicked Feagin, a Deerfield Beach, Fla. native, off the team in July for a “violation of team rules,” according to the Free Press. The Free Press also said Feagin told police that he had been arrested twice in Florida for battery and trespass.
Feagin signed with Michigan last February on National Signing Day and competed for the starting position at quarterback. However, he injured his shoulder early in the season and was used mostly as a running quarterback.
At American Heritage High in Florida, Feagin completed 91-of-151 yards for 1,420 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,313 yards and 25 touchdowns and was third in Florida’s Mr. Football voting.
