Midnight Madness

The Watauga football program will host a Midnight Madness practice at Jack Groce Stadium Aug. 7-8.

Practice begins Aug. 8 at midnight, and runs until 1:30 a.m. The varsity and jayvee players will be introduced to the pubic at 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 7. From 10-10:30 p.m., fans can take pictures and get autographs from players.


There will be several events going on earlier on Aug. 7 at the stadium before practice begins. A raffle and dinner hosted by the Watauga Touchdown Club will begin at 6 p.m., with the drawing taking place at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $100 and one of the prizes includes two catered meals by the Dan’l Boone Inn. The grand prize is $5,000.


An air-walk slide and an obstacle course will be available for kids from 6 p.m. until midnight on the practice field.

Admission is free. Concessions will be sold from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., and new Watauga football apparel will be sold, including the items with the new helmet logo. Other events will be announced when finalized.
