Officers search

for runaway teen

The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) received a report concerning a missing teen on Tuesday, July 21, at 11:54 p.m.

Family members are believed to have picked up Sydney Elizabeth Combs, 14, at a residence on Hawk Ridge Road in the Powder Horn community of Deep Gap.

Investigators believe Combs may be traveling to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to meet her father, Sidney Everett Combs Jr.

The N.C. Center for Missing and Exploited Children has been contacted regarding the teen. Anyone with information is urged to contact WCSO at (828) 264-3761.

Sidney Elizabeth Combs is discribed has having black hair, blue eyes, is 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 90 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, a purple, green and black tie-dye shirt, black shorts, and pink and blue socks.
