July 7
Timothy Alan Campbell, 45, of 424 Poplar Street, Johnson City, Fla., was arrested on a charge of violating a domestic violence protective order from out of state. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15.

A sexual assault was reported at a residence on Raven Rock Road in Boone. The report indicates an adult having sexual relations with a minor.

Criminal damage to property by vandalism was reported at the United Parcel Service building on the 2800 block of U.S. 421 North in Boone. The report indicates a person threw a cement block at a truck window.

Breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, criminal damage to property and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported at the 12400 block of U.S. 421 in Zionville. The victim reported a person broke the lock on the driver’s door of a 2004 Peterbilt truck and stole a video game system, six games, 15 DVDs and a jar of coins.

Breaking and entering was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Carlin Court in Boone. The victim reported a person entering the home through a window.

A simple physical assault and a domestic violence protective order violation were reported at a residence on the 800 block of N.C. 194 in Boone. The victim reported the person pushed him/her and dragged them on the ground.

A simple physical assault was reported at the 1300 block of Orchard Road in Deep Gap.

Nicholaus E. Owings, 25, of 1144 Fairway Drive, Boone, was served with a warrant on a charge of communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 28 in lieu of an unsecured $1,000 bond.

David Elton Kline, 40, of 251 Ridgeview Drive, Apt. D, Boone, was arrested on charges of driving with a revoked license, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 28 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.


Fraud by failure to work after having been paid was reported at a residence on the 700 block of Forest Ridge Drive in Boone. The victim reported a person failed to paint a deck after advance payment had been made.

July 8
Breaking and entering of a building, larceny and criminal damage to property were reported at a residence on the 12500 block of N.C. 421 in Deep Gap. The lock on an outbuilding was reported damaged and power tools were stolen.

Fraud via credit card was reported by a resident of John Ward Road in Sugar Grove. The victim reported unauthorized purchases made on a credit card.


Criminal damage to property by vandalism was reported at a residence on the 400 block of Rhodo Lane in Banner Elk. The victim reported a person hit a portable toilet with a vehicle.


Breaking and entering and larceny was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Hollar and Greene Lane in Boone. The victim reported two chain saws, a Weed Eater and a battery charger were stolen from an outbuilding.

Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 1400 block of Little Laurel Road in Boone. A construction trailer was entered using a pry tool and multiple power tools were reported stolen.

July 9
David Carlos Skattebo, 32, of 2251 Long Hope Drive, Todd, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of assault on a female and communicating threats. He was also served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and was scheduled to appear in district court on July 15 in lieu of a $719 cash bond.

Shanon Bud Keeton, 29, of 119 Carlin Court, Boone, was arrested on a charge of indecent exposure. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

Wendy Darlene Johnson, 34, of 1916 N.C. 16 North, Apt. 6, Crumpler, was served with an order for arrest for a court violation. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 31 in lieu of a secured $2,000 bond.

John Richard Gallagher, 32, of 440 Bluebird Lane, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of non-assaultive child abuse and interfering with emergency communication. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of a secured $1,000 bond.

Wesley Vernon Haley, 27, of 335 Mill Race Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He is scheduled to appear in district court on July 28 in lieu of a secured $200 bond.


Larceny was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Cornerstone Lane in Deep Gap. The victim reported a person forced entry into the home and prescription medication was stolen.


Fraud via credit card was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Patricelli Drive in Boone. The victim reported a person making purchases with a cancelled credit card.

Fraud was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Poplar Creek Estates Drive in Todd. The victim reported a person distributing fraudulent checks.


Breaking and entering with non-forced entry and larceny were reported at a residence on the 200 block of Southridge Road in Banner Elk. The victim reported a person entered the residence and stole a video game console, games, a digital camera, two shotguns and ammunition.

An incident of indecent exposure was reported at a residence on Bluebonnet Drive in Boone.

July 10
Alberto Ibarra-Rivera, 46, of 149 Green Acres Road, Boone, was arrested on a charge of driving while impaired. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a secured $1,000 bond.

Tayler Paul Whisnant, 22, of 27 Colonial Lane, Granite, was served with a warrant from the Hickory Police Department on a charge of assault on a female. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in Catawba district court on Aug. 4.

Officers were called to residence on the 200 block of Hodges Valley Road in Boone. The victim reported a person had placed a dead bird in his/her mailbox.

Harassing phone calls and communicating threats were reported at a residence on the 400 block of Bub Teems Road in Boone. The two residences reported multiple phone calls and electronic messages.

Criminal damage to property by vandalism was reported at parks and recreation facilities on Complex Drive in Boone. A person cut a hole in the vinyl fencing.

Larceny was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Storie Road in Boone. The victim reported $600 in cash had been stolen from the home.

July 11
Roshad Craig Williams, 25, of 124 Assembly Drive, Apt. 3, Boone, was arrested on charges of driving while license revoked, providing fictitious information to an officer, displaying a fictitious registration plate and operating a vehicle without insurance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 28 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

Ryan Neil Hicks, 17, of 907 Old Watauga River Road, Sugar Grove, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault and battery. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

James Case Owen, 20, of 1623 Keogh St., Burlington, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting a public officer and underage possession of alcohol. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 28 in lieu of an unsecured $800 bond.


Officers responded to a residence on the 5500 block of Bethel Road in Sugar Grove in response to a female who had locked herself in a room with a gun.


Officers were called to a residence on the 200 block of Harrison Lane in Boone in response to a male who had ingested 63 Klonopin pills at once.


Larceny was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Irish Walk in Boone. The victim reported a passport stolen.

Criminal damage to property by vandalism was reported on the 100 block of Corbett McNeil Road in Boone. The victim reported gunshots had been fired at a house, damaging four windows and a refrigerator.

July 12
Bradford Mills Ivey, 28, of 934 Trojan Horse Circle, Ferguson, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.


Damage to property was reported in a parking area on the 100 block of Proffit Road in Boone. The victim reported the rear window of a truck had been shattered.

Officers were called to a restaurant on Dogwood Lane in Blowing Rock. The victim reported a person had invaded his/her personal space in a threatening manner.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the highway on the 4000 block of U.S. 421 in Boone. The dispute involved a juvenile and a stepfather.
