ASU adds to recruiting class
Appalachian State head women's basketball coach Darcie Vincent announced the addition of Taylor Fulton to cap off the 2009 roster. Vincent announced four other newcomers to the 2009 squad in early May.
Fulton a 5-4 point guard, hails from Duquesne, Pa. where she attended West Mifflin Area High School. A three-year letter-winner in basketball, Fulton was a first team all-section selection her senior and sophomore years along with picking up second team all-section honors her junior season.
She was also tabbed a Kenny Durett High School all-star, given the United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete award, highlighted as the Daily News' Fabulous 15, given the Thompson Run Athletic Association High School MVP and named her high school's Outstanding all-Around athlete.
As a senior, Fulton averaged 14 points per game, to go along with nine assists, four rebounds and four steals.
“We are extremely excited to have Taylor finish off our 2009 recruiting class,” Vincent said. "She adds more depth to the point guard and back court position. Her court demeanor and work ethic is exactly what we are looking for in a player. She will balance the point guard position and give us both and additional ball-handler and playmaker on the court. She possesses a wonderful mind for the game and has a lot of natural ability.”
