Boone Police Department officers were in the area of Denton Insurance inspecting the business for a possible breaking and entering at 3 a.m. Wednesday when an unknown man fled from the area.
While in pursuit to the rear of the building, the officers came upon William Clyde Tester, 46, of Vilas in the maintenance yard off Horn in the West Drive.
Tester was arrested and taken to the BPD for questioning in relation to the Denton Insurance break-in.
However, Sgt. Matt Stevens said the man captured in surveillance footage at the business does not match Tester’s description.
