Little League teams return

to All-Star tournament

Watauga's Little League baseball and softball teams return to action this weekend in the District 7 All-Star tournaments. All games and times are subject to change for weather or other circumstances.

In the 11-12 year old baseball tournament, Watauga American plays Wilkes American Saturday at 2 p.m. at Optimist Park. At 4 p.m., also at Optimist Park, Watauga National hosts Avery. Both teams play Tuesday, should they win, against an opponent and at a site to be determined.

In the 9-10 year old baseball tournament, Watauga National plays at East Catawba Friday at 6:30 p.m. Should Watauga win, it would host the winner of the Ashe County/Wilkes National #1 game on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Optimist Park. Ashe plays Wilkes National Friday at Ashe County Park at 7:30 p.m.

In 11-12 year old softball, Watauga hosts Avery at 2 p.m. at the Carroll Complex at Watauga High. Watauga, should it get past Avery, will play Ashe County at a site to be determined.

The 9-10 year old Watauga softball team plays Morganton at Avery County Park Saturday at 4 p.m.
