ASU to be on TV 3 times
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State’s football team will make a league-high three appearances on SportSouth this season as part of the Southern Conference’s “SoCon Saturday” package, the conference announced on Thursday.
Appalachian’s Oct. 24 home game versus Georgia Southern and road tilts at Wofford (Oct. 17) and Elon (Nov. 14) will be televised live on SportSouth. All three games kick off at 3 p.m.
SportSouth is the nation’s sixth-largest regional sports network, reaching more than nine million households across a six-state region that spans North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi.
The three SportSouth appearances give ASU at least four televised games this season. The Mountaineers’ season opener at East Carolina will be carried live on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN).
Appalachian also announced on Thursday that its five remaining home games are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. All kickoff times remain subject to change pending potential local TV arrangements.
