Rash of burglaries

hits Shadowline shops
By Melanie Marshall

For the third time this month, multiple businesses have fell victim to breaking and entering a single incident.

Four businesses in the Shadowline Shopping Plaza were broken into in the early morning hours of Friday.

The break-ins were reported at 6:43 a.m. to the Boone Police Department. Investigators are releasing few details, but did say entry was forced. An undisclosed amount of cash was reported stolen.

Police said American General Finance, Frames by Lori, Sunfast Tanning and the Harkins Agency were entered.

On June 11, four businesses were entered in the Heritage Court Shopping Center on N.C. 105. Cash, computers and other electronic equipment were reported stolen in that incident.

Again on June 19, six businesses were entered in a single incident on Realty Row. Investigators did not release the items stolen in the Realty Row break-ins.

“We are considering the possibility of these break-ins being related,” said detective David Osborne of the Boone Police Department. “All of these are still currently under investigation.”

Anyone with information on this crime or any other crime is asked to call High Country Crimestoppers at (828) 268-6959. All information will be kept confidential. Crimestoppers pays rewards for information, which leads to arrests; recovery of stolen property; seizure of drugs and the location of wanted persons.
