June 16
Brian Randolph Wood Jr., 27, of 283 Vannoy Lane, Boone, was served with a warrant on a charge of harassing phone calls. He is scheduled to appear in district court on July 15 in lieu of a written promise bond.
Garrett Brooks McGuire, 22, of 263 Charlie Hollar Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear in Rutherford County district court on charges of driving while impaired and driving without insurance. He is scheduled to appear in Rutherford district court on July 29.
A simple physical assault was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Rocky Lane in Boone. The victim reported having been punched.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 2100 block of Winklers Creek Road in Boone. The victim reported a person stealing mail from the mailbox.
June 17
Lewin Worth Holleman III, 23, of 185 Howards St., Apt. 203, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of misdemeanor assault and battery. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15.
Tarasa Louise Lores, 22, of 260 Azor Court, Apt. B, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of misdemeanor assault and battery. She is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of a written promise bond.
Burglary with forced entry was reported at a residence on the 5900 block of U.S. 421 in Vilas. The victim reported a person kicked in the door of the home and stole antiques, a model train engine, a porcelain doll and a mixer.
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 1500 block of U.S. 421 in Boone. The victim reported a person entered the home without the use of force and stole a half-gallon of Crown Royal liquor and five cartons of cigarettes.
A simple physical assault was reported at a residence on the 6100 block of U.S. 321 in Sugar Grove. The victim reported a person entered the home and assaulted him/her.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 600 block of Bennick Place in Sugar Grove. The victim reported a $1,000 check was stolen from a personal letter.
Larceny was reported at a commercial storage facility at the intersection of U.S. 421 and U.S. 321 in Vilas.
The victim reported a person cut the lock from the door of the unit and stole two nail guns, a stapler, boxes of nails and various other assorted ratchets, wrenches and sockets.
June 18
Kristy Lovella Orr, 37, of 1330 Brownwood Road, Deep Gap, was arrested on view on charges of driving while license revoked, revoked registration tag, providing fictitious information to an officer and misdemeanor possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of a secured $1,500 bond.
Gary Michael Bumgardner, 58, of 395 Emory Greer Road, Zionville, was served with a warrant for arrest on two court violations. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 14 in lieu of a written promise bond.
A motor vehicle theft was reported at a residence on the 1300 block of Milton Moretz Road in Boone. The victim reported a 2003 white Ford Escape was stolen out of the driveway.
Tiffany Nicole South, 18, of 167 Martin Lane, Boone, was served with a criminal summons on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15.
A wallet was reported found in the roadway of Bamboo Road in Boone and turned into the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded to a report of person disturbing the peace on the 100 block of Justus Road in Banner Elk. The victim reported a person yelling obscenities at him/her.
June 19
Edward Charles Lucas Jr., 43, of 189 White Oak Trail, Valle Crucis, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear in district court on charges of driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, speeding and driving left of center. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 15 in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
James Robert Benham, 22, of 159 Hayes St., Boone, was arrested on view on a charge of driving while impaired. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 24 in lieu of a written promise bond.
Criminal damage to property by vandalism was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Roaring Fork Road in Todd. The victim reported a person took the headlight from his/her vehicle.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 400 block of Presnell Road in Banner Elk. Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation reported the resident reconnected the electricity.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 300 block of Bub Teems Road in Boone. The victim reported property stolen. The incident report did not specify the stolen goods.
Larceny of motor fuel was reported at the Daniel Boone BP on U.S. 321 in Boone. A person drove away without paying for $32.17 in gasoline.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Buckshot Circle in Boone. The victim reported a two-person tent stolen from the backyard.
June 20
Phillip David Harmon, 22, of 305 Hicks Road, Vilas, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of trespassing. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.
Donald James MacDonald, 25, of Frank Mast Road, Valle Crucis, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of trespassing. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.
Steven William Sanderford, 23, of 135 Brook Creek Drive, Apt. 3, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of larceny. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 15 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.
June 21
Alvaro Flores Panzo, 25, of 207 Bub Teems Road, Boone, was arrested on view on a charge of simple assault and non-assaultive child neglect. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 28 in lieu of a secured $1,500 bond.
Nelson Padila Ortiz, 24, of Bluebird Lae, Boone, was arrested on view on a charge of non-assaultive child abuse. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 28 in lieu of a secured $1,500 bond.
James Daniel Fletcher, 20, of 289 Harbin Road, Zionville, was served with a warrant from Avery County on a charge of second degree trespassing. He is scheduled to appear in district court in Newland on Aug. 21 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.
Criminal damage to property was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Bub Teems Road in Boone. The victim reported a person backing into his/her van.
A weapons violation was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Bub Teems Road in Boone. A person reported another pointing a gun.
June 22
Trespassing was reported on the 100 block of Complex Drive in Boone. A person climbed the fence surrounding the area of the old skateboarding park.
Criminal damage to property was reported at a residence on the 5400 block of Big Hill Road in Todd. The victim reported a person attempted to drive around a gate blocking a driveway, causing damage to landscaping.
Criminal damage to property was reported at Southern Agricultural Insecticides on Brook Hollow Road in Boone. Rocks were thrown through the windshield of a truck belonging to the business.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Hubert Norris Road in Boone. The victim reported a person stolen the license plate from his/her vehicle.
