Boone woman arrested

on child abuse charges

Officers with the investigation division of the Boone Police Department have charged a Boone woman with misdemeanor child abuse.

Evelyn Sue Eller-Pope, 20, was arrested on Tuesday. Investigators say the charges stem from a June 17 incident in which a 13-month-old child sustained injuries from a fall.

Eller-Pope is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 26 in lieu of a $1,000 bond.

Investigators were not able to release any further details, but did say the child did not sustain critical injuries.

Eller-Pope was able to make bond arrangements.
