WHS seniors get final thank you

Several graduating seniors at Watauga who received scholarships to play athletics in college met in the school’s media center for a reception attended by their coaches, school administration and media Wednesday.
Watauga athletics director Jeff Link also handed out the Trailblazer Award to Baine Martin and the Hall of Fame Award to Chandler Butler. Martin won the Trailblazer Award for being voted the top male athlete at the school, while Butler was named the top female athlete at Watauga.
Both were three-sport athletes in 2008-09.
Link also handed out the Bob Ross Volunteer Award to Watauga Democrat sports editor Steve Behr and the Pioneer Pride Award, given to Daniel Clark, the sports information director at Watauga.
