May 11
A person reported having been struck by unknown male persons at a residence on the 13400 block of U.S. 421 in Zionville.
May 12
Evelyn Colleen Sparks, 35, of 120 Dovick Drive, Boone, was served with a criminal summons on a charge of child neglect. She is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9.
Larry Scott Kerley, 30, of 275 Chestnut Drive, Boone, was served with an order for arrest on an indictment as a habitual felon. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in superior court on July 23 in lieu of a secured $25,000 bond.
Susan Theresa Fabbri, 39, of 166 Quail Ridge Lane, Apt. B, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on 13 charges of felony obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and/or forgery. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $15,000 bond.
Garrett Brooks McGuire, 22, of 263 Charlie Hollar Road, Boone, was served with an order for failure to appear at scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 3 in lieu of a secured $1,000 bond.
Philip David Harmon, 22, of 305 Hicks Road, Vilas, was served with a warrant on charges of felony burglary with forced entry and felony larceny. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 12 in lieu of an unsecured $3,500 bond.
May 13
Breaking and entering, larceny, and criminal damage to property were reported at a residence on the 1200 block of Castle Ford Road in Boone. The victim reported a window was pried open and a crimping tool used for plumbing was stolen.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Slabtown Road. Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corp. reported the resident broke the lock on an electric box and turned the power back on.
Breaking and entering was reported at the Deep Gap Ice Cream and Soda Shop on Old U.S. 421 in Deep Gap. The owner reported a person attempted to gain entry to the building.
Burglary with forced entry and larceny was reported at a residence on the 400 block of Little Rock Canyon Road in Lenoir. The victim reported a person entered the building through the front door, causing $300, in damage and stole a pruning pole.
May 14
Jerry David Tester, 41, of 186 Monteagle Drive, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for a court violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 2.
Joseph Lee Love, 24, of 4379 Elk Creek Road, Deep Gap, was served with an order for arrest for a court violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.
Amber Michelle Newton, 25, of 2588 U.S. 321, Room 17, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 21 in lieu of a secured $447 bond.
May 15
Thomas Lanier Cain IV, 24, of 428 Welcome Way, Boone, was served with a criminal assault on a charge of simple assault. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 12.
Chad Dillon Whitmill, 24, of 323A Mountain Aire Lane, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of breaking and entering and injury to real property. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 12 in lieu of a secured $1,000 bond.
James Allen Moretz, 30, of 390 Len Moretz Road, Boone, was served with a warrant on an indictment on a felony drug violation. He was also served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. Moretz was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 23 in lieu of a secured $2,000 bond.
Michael Thomas Peterson, 18, of 289 Meadowhill Drive, Apt. 604, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 12 in lieu of a secured $1,000 bond.
Larceny of a safe was reported at a residence on the 600 block of Crocker Road in Blowing Rock.
May 16
An assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats were reported at a residence on the 700 block of Aho Road in Blowing Rock. The victim reported a person pointing a gun at his/her head and threatening to shoot them.
Trespassing was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Betsys Drive in Boone. The victim reported a person walking onto his/her property.
May 17
Jennifer Kathryn Carpenter, 36, of 474 Seven Devils Road, Banner Elk, was served with a warrant for 14 charges of the possession or concealment of forged items. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of secured $12,000 bond.
May 18
Christopher Ryan Pickett, 24, of 711 Scissortail Lane, Apex, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of harassing phone calls. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported at a residence on the 300 block of Hicks Road in Sugar Grove. The tag was reported stolen from a vehicle.
A sexual assault was reported at a residence on the 400 block of Presnell Road in Banner Elk.
Larceny was reported at a rental facility on Summit Rise Drive in Boone. The victim reported the lock was cut from a trailer and multiple tools, with a total value of $4,960, were stolen.
May 19
Kevin Richard Pierson, 45, of 123 Winter Drive, Lot 36, Boone, was arrested on view on a charge of driving while license revoked. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 12 in lieu of an unsecured $1,000 bond.
Criminal damage to property was reported at a restaurant on the 5700 block of Old 421 South in Deep Gap. A person shot the outside light at Thompson’s Seafood.
