Watauga sheriff’s reports

April 21
David Wade Andrews, 45, of 266 Buckshot Circle, Boone, was served with an order for arrest on a charge of a court violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 19 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

Theft of personal mail was reported in the Mabel School Road, Old U.S. 421 and Slabtown Road areas of Zionville. A total of 16 pieces of mail were reported stolen and were recovered by officers of the Sheriff’s office.

Motor vehicle theft was reported in a parking lot off of Hollar and Greene Lane in Boone. A trailer was reported stolen.

Larceny was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Howards Creek Road in Boone. Mailboxes were reported stolen.

Larceny was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Westside Drive in Vilas. The victim reported a package was stolen after delivery onto the front porch.

An incident of cyberstalking was reported by a resident of Appaloosa Trail in Boone. The victim reported receiving threatening e-mails.

April 22
Corey Dee Robbins, 32, of 159 Monteagle Drive, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 18 in lieu of a secured $2,000 bond.

Eric John Rader, 21, of 174 Lovie Presnell Road, Banner Elk, was arrested on view on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $300 bond.


Tommy John Rader Jr., 46, of 174 Lovie Presnell Road, Banner Elk, was arrested on view on a charge of possessing/concealing weapons. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $300 bond.

James Sanders Shore Jr., 32, of 150 Winter Drive, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was scheduled to appear in district court on April 29.


Lee Meredith Loftin, 22, of 189 Ambling Way, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of injury to personal property. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Dustin Caine James, 25, of 605 Church Hollow Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of violation of a domestic violence protective order. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center in lieu of a May 27.


Larceny was reported at a residence on the 400 block of Brownwood Road in Deep Gap. The victim reported a canoe stolen from the residence.


Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 100 block of Jake Trail in Vilas. The home was entered without the use of force and multiple tools, four DVD players, four televisions, two laundry baskets, a bow and arrow and a Weed Eater were reported stolen.

April 23
Robert Canter Bramlette, 28, of 136 Bluebird Lane, Boone, was served an order for arrest on an indictment on felony embezzlement. He is scheduled to appear in superior court on August 3 in lieu of an unsecured $3,000 bond.

Timothy Earl Sheppard, 45, of 124 Arnette Road, Banner Elk, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault on a female. He is scheduled to appear in district court on May 15 in lieu of an unsecured $750 bond.

April 24
Robert L. Conrad, 21, of 1305 Pine Ridge Road, Lexington, was arrested on view on charges of driving while impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a written promise bond.


Kevin Gallagher, 23, of 180 Wild Blackberry Hill Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of felony manufacturing marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell and/or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle and/or residence for purposes related to a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on April 17 in lieu of a secured $8,500 bond.

Greg Allan Carlisle, 24, of 180 Wild Blackberry Hill Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of felony manufacturing marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell and/or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle and/or residence for purposes related to a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on April 17 in lieu of a secured $8,500 bond.

A simply non-physical assault with sexual intent was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Country Lane in Boone. The victim reported a person attempted to touch him/her in a sexual manner.

April 26
Hector Quiroz, 32, of 6181 U.S. 421 North, Apt. 3, Vilas, was arrested on view on charges of violating a domestic violence protective order and interfering with emergency communications. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 6 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

Breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny were reported at a residence on the 100 block of Knowles Haven Lane in Boone. The victim reported a person entered a vehicle without the use of force and stole a backpack, laptop computer, three iPods, a wallet, a GPS unit, a credit/debit card, and two pair of sunglasses.


Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 6400 block of U.S. 105 in Boone. The victim reported a person entered a vehicle without the use of force and stolen a telephone, clothing and a purse.

Larceny was reported at a residence on the 900 block of Mabel School Road in Zionville. The victim reported a green Yamaha ATV was stolen from the driveway.

April 27
Gregory Morris Triplett, 38, of 665 Slabtown Road, Zionville, was arrested on view on charges of felony possession with intent to sell and/or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $3,000 bond.

An incident of communicating threats was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Rip Van Road in Sugar Grove. The victim reported a person drove by while communicating threats.

An incident of communicating threats was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Dale Adams Road in Sugar Grove. The victim reported receiving threatening phone calls.

Cody Ryan Oakes, 20, of 266 Clay Hodges Road, Boone, was served with a warrant on a charge of communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Robert MacMillan, 32, of 190 Sable Drive, Apt. 4, Boone, was arrested on view on charges of driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and possession of an open container in the passenger area of the vehicle. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

Jessica Lynn Kirby, 20, of 190 Sable Drive, Apt. 4, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. Kirby was also served with a warrant on a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance on jail property. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $3,000 bond.

Jeremy Dickson Shelton, 32, of 356 Old Turnpike Road, Boone, was served with a warrant out of Rutherford County on charges of felony obtaining property by false pretenses and felony forgery of an instrument. He is scheduled to appear in district court in Rutherfordton on May 20 in lieu of an unsecured $2,000 bond.

Richard Patrick Porter, 42, of 157 Pebbles Lane, Todd, was served with an order for arrest on a charge of habitual felon. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in superior court on May 28 in lieu of a secured $25,000 bond.


Damage to property was reported on the 100 block of N.C. 194 South in Vilas. A Watauga County Sheriff’s officer reported hitting a deer with a patrol vehicle, causing $100 in damage to the front of the car.
