April 6
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 2000 block of George Hayes Road in Boone. The victim reported a person breaking the front door of the home and stealing a yellow folder containing personal documents and folders containing legal and real estates documents.
April 7
John Kevin Wilson, 44, of 887 Slabtown Road, Zionville, was arrested on view on a charge of driving while impaired. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $1,000 bond.
Matthew Shawn Jenkins, 18, of 841 Chal Drive, Statesville, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny from a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in district court on May 8 in lieu of an unsecured $2,500 bond.
Robert Jerome Cobb, 24, of 8507 Three Top Road, Todd, was served with a warrant on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and/or deliver methamphetamine, and selling methamphetamine. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 15 in lieu of a secured $83,000 bond.
Cobb was also served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date.
Helen L. Cobb, 56, of 8507 Three Top Road, Todd, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. She is scheduled to appear in district court on May 15 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.
Larceny was reported at a business on the 8900 U.S. 321 North in Sugar Grove. A person stole the business sign.
An incident of communicating threats was reported at a residence on the 1200 Rock Cliff Road in Boone. The victim reported a person coming to the residence and threatening him/her.
Criminal damage to property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Bluebird Lane in Boone. The victim reported a person threw a rock through the bedroom window.
April 8
Robert Willard Mosher, 36, of 634 Hodges Gap Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 15 in lieu of secured $100 bond.
Burglary with forced entry and larceny were reported at a residence on the 700 block of Rhymer Branch Road in Deep Gap. The victim reported the residence and an outbuilding were entered. Tools and a car stereo were reported stolen.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 1300 block of the N.C. 105 Bypass. The victim reported cash stolen.
April 9
James Daniel Wallace, 27, of 121 Rip Van Road, Sugar Grove, was arrested on view on charges of fleeing arrest with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor child abuse, a registration violation, driving without insurance, reckless driving to endanger and speeding. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 15 in lieu of a secured $7,000 bond.
Robert Alex Wilson, 27, of 646 Ball Branch Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on two charges each of felony conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and felony maintaining a dwelling and/or vehicle for purposes related to controlled substance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 15 in lieu of a secured $12,000 bond.
Cody Lane Johnson, 19, of 238 Hickory Lane, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of felony larceny. He is scheduled to appear in district court on May 1 in lieu of an unsecured $5,000 bond.
Seth Lancaster McCurry, 21, of 1881 Golden Valley Church Road, Bostic, was served with an injury to personal property and assault with a deadly weapon. He is scheduled to appear in district court on May 1 in lieu of written promise bond.
Breaking and entering of a coin-operated machine was reported at a retail establishment on the 5700 block of Old U.S. 421 in Deep Gap. A drink machine was opening and the money removed.
April 10
Brian Christopher Smith, 36, of 307 Hicks Road, Sugar Grove, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of simple assault on female. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 15.
Krystal Tarae Sigmon, 22, of 3237 West Calvin St., Claremont, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of two counts of conspiracy traffic opium/heroin, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell and/or deliver heroin and felony maintain a vehicle and/or dwelling for purposes relating to a controlled substance. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $25,000 bond.
Nathan James Sigmon, 26, of 3237 West Calvin St., Claremont, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of two counts of conspiracy traffic opium/heroin, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell and/or deliver heroin and felony maintain a vehicle and/or dwelling for purposes relating to a controlled substance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 9 in lieu of a secured $25,000 bond.
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 200 Myria Road in Boone. The victim reported a person entering the home with force and stealing two televisions, two DVD players and a satellite receiver box.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Oliver Hill Road in Banner Elk. The victim reported a laptop computer was stolen from the home.
Cruelty to animals was reported at a residence on U.S. 221 near the county line in Blowing Rock. The victim reported a person shot his/her dog.
Harassment was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Hodges Gap Road in Boone. The victim reported an undisclosed item had been placed in his/her mailbox as harassment over an incident that occurred one year ago.
Trespassing was reported at a residence on 100 block of Helen Court in Boone. The victim reported a person entering the home without permission.
Officers responded to a report of a person being evicted without notice and the landlord is alleged to be withholding items.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 500 block of Jones Drive in Boone. Prescription medication was reported stolen.
April 11
Derick Lynn Swift, 38, of 653 Will Isaacs Road, Zionville, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of assault on a female, aggravated assault and communicating threats. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 13.
Damage to property was reported on the 1300 block of the N.C. 105 Bypass. A WCSO patrol car was backed into a utility pole.
Breaking and entering, larceny and criminal damage to property were reported at a residence on the 300 block of Holiday Hills Road in Boone. The victim reported a person entering a storage building and removed multiple tools.
Larceny was reported in open land area at the end of Farthing Lane in Vilas. The victim reported a generator stolen.
Fraud was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Eggers Lane in Boone. The victim reported a person obtained and used his/her credit card.
April 12
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 5400 block Castle Ford Road in Todd. The victim reported the home was entered with force and prescription medication stolen.
April 13
Geoffrey Paul Nelson, 32, of 136 Banjo Hollow Road, Boone, was served with a warrant on charges of two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 15 in lieu of a secured $3,500 bond.
An incident of obtaining money by false pretenses was reported at a residence on the 2500 block of Linville Creek Road in Vilas. The victim reported an unauthorized draft from his/her checking account.
Criminal damage to property and larceny were reported at the skate park on Complex Drive in Boone. A person used bolt cutters to grain access and cut the fence to remove the rules of conduct signage. One hundred waiver forms were also stolen.
