Senior goes 5-for-5 in ASU victory
DAVIDSON - A bad stroke of luck hurt Appalachian State in the first game of its Southern Conference doubleheader with Davidson Sunday. The Mountaineers made sure bad luck would not have any effect on the second game.

GREENSBORO - Michelle Lighton went 3-for-4 and Appalachian State's softball team took advantage of three UNCG errors and beat the Spartans 7-0 in the second game of a doubleheader Sunday. UNCG won the first game 2-1.
Weather changes schedules
The recent rainstorm that passed through the area has led to some changes in the schedules of local athletic teams. Watauga's varsity and jayvee baseball teams saw their games at Alexander Central Friday rescheduled for Monday. The jayvees will play at 4:30 p.m., while the varsity plays at 6:30 p.m. Watauga's baseball games at Mount Tabor, scheduled for Saturday, have been moved to Tuesday. The jayvees play at 4:30 p.m., while the varsity plays at 6 p.m. The Northwestern 4-A Conference relay meet that was to be held at Watauga was canceled. No make-up date has been announced. Watauga's girls' soccer game against Ashe County scheduled for Monday has been postponed tentatively for April 9. The game had to be moved so Ashe County could make up a conference game. Appalachian State's baseball game with Davidson Friday was postponed. It has not been determined when it will be made up.
