The Pioneers also got 21 saves from goal keeper Katherine Mayhew.

“Katherine had a phenomenal night,” Watauga coach Johnny Gailes said. “She had 21 saves, so she did well.”

A.C. Reynolds got the game winner of a corner kick that was headed into the goal in the overtime period.

“One of the things I told them was to be very wary on their corner kicks because they can be deadly with them,” Gailes said. Watauga hosts East Burke Tuesday night at the Ted Mackorell Complex.
