Reynolds wins in OT

ASHEVILLE — Watauga gave up a goal in overtime and fell 1-0 to A.C. Reynolds Friday night at Dalton Stadium.
Watauga was outshot 21-8 by the Rockets. Watauga got two shots from Austin Williamson, two from Sydney Atkinson, and one each from Tiffany Dickens, Kendyl Baird and Jodi Krause.
The Pioneers also got 21 saves from goal keeper Katherine Mayhew.
“Katherine had a phenomenal night,” Watauga coach Johnny Gailes said. “She had 21 saves, so she did well.”
A.C. Reynolds got the game winner of a corner kick that was headed into the goal in the overtime period.
“One of the things I told them was to be very wary on their corner kicks because they can be deadly with them,” Gailes said. Watauga hosts East Burke Tuesday night at the Ted Mackorell Complex.

ASHEVILLE — A.C. Reynolds broke open a close game with nine-run inning and beat Watauga 13-2 Friday night.
A.C. Reynolds led 4-2 when the Rockets scored nine runs in the fifth inning to break the game wide open.
Watauga (1-5, 0-3) scored a run in the second inning and another in the third to keep the game close until the fifth inning.
Watauga’s jayvee team beat A.C. Reynolds 14-9 to improve to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the NWC.
