ASHEVILLE - Wataugafs tennis team continued its stampede through the Northwestern 4-A Conference Monday with a 9-0 victory over A.C. Reynolds.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Appalachian Statefs baseball team stranded 13 base runners, including 11 in the final four innings, in a 5-3 loss to East Tennessee State on Wednesday night at Cardinal Park.

Appalachian State drops 3-1 decision to Wake Forest

Wake Forest pitching limited Appalachian State to just six hits and handed the Mountaineers a 3-1 setback Tuesday at Smith Stadium.

Fancher out at ASU

Appalachian State head men’s basketball coach Houston Fancher resigned Monday night, according to a press release sent out by the university. Fancher had just completed his ninth season as head coach of the Mountaineers. Ap-alachian State went 13-18 this past season, 9-11 in the Southern Conference, and lost to Davidson in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Tournament.

There have been a few changes with the Appalachian State football program over the last few months.

Pioneers go 2-1 over weekend
Watauga’s boys’ tennis team went 2-1 during the R.J. Reynolds Invitational Friday and Saturday.

Going into its three-game series with The Citadel, Appalachian Sate needed a victory to stop the bleeding of a five-game losing streak.

STATESBORO, Ga. - Katie Boyd hit a triple in the sixth inning for the only Appalachian State hit as the Mountaineers fell to Georgia Southern 3-2 Sunday.
