Baseball to host High Point

on Wednesday evening
From staff reports

Because of last weekend's rain and snow rendering many of the state's college baseball fields unplayable this week, Appalachian State University baseball will host High Point Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium.

Thanks to Beaver Field's FieldTurf playing surface, ASU was able to remove a foot of snow from the field in time to host High Point this evening. Like Appalachian (4-3), High Point (3-2) had its mid-week contest at North Carolina A&T postponed due to remnants of the rain and snow in Greensboro.

Admission to Wednesday's affair is free. The game will not be broadcast on the Appalachian ISP Sports Network, but live stats will be available at GoASU.com.
