Hiddenite duo charged
in hit-and-run

Boone police say two residents of Hiddenite, N.C. were involved in a hit-and-run incident.

Stewart Vance Marlowe, 24, and Brandy Taylor Marlowe, 21, have been charged in relation to an October 2008 hit-and-run investigation.
On Oct. 25, the Marlowes reported to the Boone Police Department that their vehicle had been stolen.
The vehicle, make and model undisclosed, was later located and identified as having been involved in a hit-and-run collision earlier that morning. The details of the hit-and-run incident were not released by BPD.
The N.C. Department of Insurance assisted in the investigation, leading to the Feb. 5 arrest of the Marlowes.
Both were charged with obtaining property by false pretenses, making a false report to police and hit and run. They are scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 27 in lieu of secured $2,000 bonds.
Hiddenite is an unincorporated community in Alexander County.
